The KAG's School Program is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of art. Planned carefully to complement current exhibitions at the Gallery, experienced gallery guides, engage students in activities that assist the student in learning to convey ideas, feelings and emotions. They learn to decipher and understand the historical and cultural messages wrapped up in works of art and to analyze, critique and draw reasoned conclusions from what they see and hear.
At the Kamloops Art Gallery we believe that art education should embrace art history, art making, art criticism, and issues of aesthetics. Introducing arts education into the learning matrix helps students develop analytical and intuitive thinking skills, creative problem solving skills, collaborative skills, and judgment skills associated with successful business and political leaders, entrepreneurs and lifelong learners.
