The full caption in the Onderdonk Album reads: Steamer Kamloops - CP Ry Construction - Big Shuswap Lake.

This was the second Kamloops, launched at the end of March in 1885. The event was described in The Inland Sentinel of April 2, 1885. The 'Kamloops,' however, was still without a boiler. It arrived later that week. By mid month, the 'Kamloops' was busy on Kamloops Lake. On April 16, 1885, the Sentinel reported she had gone to Savona the previous Monday, returning to Kamloops on Wednesday and, 'proceeding up the river today, loaded with passengers and freight. She made a fine appearance with her colors flying and moved along gracefully and fast against the current. The 'Kamloops' will prove a great acquisition to our inland navigation, and we have no doubt her comander will add to his reputation. The enterprising owners deserve, and very likely will receive, fair returns for outlay.'
